Prenatal Genetics

Prenatal genetic diagnosis allows the identification of alterations in genes or chromosomes at the foetal stage of development. It is especially indicated in pregnant women who have an increased risk of transmitting genetic diseases to the offspring or in the case that foetal abnormalities are detected by ultrasound.

Non-invasive screening based on foetal DNA studies in maternal blood allows us to detect chromosomal abnormalities in any pregnant woman who wishes to be tested because these tests do not pose a risk to the pregnancy.
